DO YOU HAVE A WORK-PLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN?

It's not only smart, it's required by Law. Cal- OSHA requires that employers maintain a safe work environment for their employees. The purpose is to prevent work place injuries.

Many employers have no safety program and provide little if any safety training for their employees. I have been working as a Health and Safety Consultant for a local construction company for the past 8 years. I have helped them develop and maintain an effective Safety Program which has dramatically reduced the number of work-related injuries which has reduced insurance costs and enabled them to continue to be competitive when bidding jobs. During this time, I have taken numerous courses and received several certifications including my OSHA 10hr. certification, Fall Protection Competent Person Certification, and Instructor certification for Forklift Operators and Defensive Driving.

Beginning in August, I will be offering my consulting services to local employers to improve workplace health and safety in our community. Initially, I will be providing this service free of charge to my patients who own businesses and to those companies who are referred by one of my existing patients, colleagues, or my web-site. My initial free service will include one hour training sessions where I will come into a business on a specific date and time and provide a one-hour health and safety talk. The topics will be chosen by the employer, but may include one of the following:
  • Computer Workstation Ergonomics
  • Proper Lifting Techniques on the Job
  • How Staying Well can make you Rich
  • Heat Illness Prevention
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Other Topics Available
If you own a small business, work in Human Resources, or are in charge of Health and Safety at your work, please inform your supervisor of my services. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. (916) 782-1223.
